I have a .tk web address (I have several actually) and have had them for a good number of years.
This morning I received the following email:
The Dot TK Abuse and Copyright Infringement department has visited your website today.Unfortunately we have to say that today we cancelled your domain LABBY.TK.
At this stage, anyone, including yourself, is able to (re)register the cancelled domain LABBY.TK.
However, upon registration, an actual working website is needed to complete the registration process.
We thank you for using Dot TK.
Dot TK Abuse / Copyright Infringement team
Don’t ask me what the infringement was, I have no idea at all.
As a matter of fact the site was pointing at my own server, which was hosting my own blog.
So, unless wordpress has suddenly become a copyright infringing product and someone has copyrighted my mindless ramblings I have to wonder just what thought crime I am guilty of.
There is no way to reply to the email as “noreply@dot.tk” is unmonitored.
I have recreated the labby.tk domain, but I would love to know exactly what infringement I have been accused of, and by whom.
As it stands the website now points to two words: “It works!”. Maybe the Apache Foundation have taken exception to me using the default page, although I can’t really believe that.
Feel free to complain about your own treatment at the hands of dot.tk, it would be nice to see if I am the only one this is happening to.

Hello,
no, you are not the only one.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me Stefan, it is very much appreciated.
Sometimes just venting my frustration on this blog helps others in the same situation, or affirms my frustration.

Same here, you must be one of the lucky ones, I never even got an email from them.

I have just gotten the same issue… But luckily I also had a co.cc domain set up and i am shortly getting a .com domain.

Same issue here, I just got the same message. I have re-submitted the site for consideration, but now I have somehow lost confidence in dot.tk’s reliability. How can I be sure that in the future my site won’t be shut down unexpectedy? The site is my home page as an amateur radio operator, I don’t see how it can violate dot.tk’s rules.

Same thing happened to me. 13 days ago I got an email from Dot TK saying my domain has been suspended for abuse/copyright reasons or some such bs, but they were nice enough to include a re-activation link. However today they suspended my domain again, permanently. I have no idea why. Its my home page and I own the rights to everything on there. I think some clown reported my website and is now having a laugh… oh well..
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/535.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/14.0.835.202 Safari/535.1
I have got the same mail. I had request the re-verifycation, but domain was cancelled again :(
It is my homepage too. I can’t imagine where i have infringed a copyright.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1
They have deleted my domains tonight.
However, unlike everybody else on this page, I can guess the “causes” in my case:
1) I have registered an attractive (i.e. very short) domain name last night, in addition to the ugly long ones that I have now kept for two weeks. This might have triggered their interest.
2) My website is configured on port 2000 instead of the default 80, i.e. some-domain.tk:2000 That’s because I forward it via an SSH host from my home PC. So little surprising is that they found nothing when they visited some-domain.tk Blind assumptions are blind.
And they don’t even provide any way to contact them and clarify… The good thing is that I have had my domains for no longer than two weeks. I have considered paying for them eventually. How can I do it if they can delete your domain on erroneous grounds and leave me like that, without any means of contact to appeal?
The “upside” of my story is that, while honest users get their domains deleted, a true abuser could set up a legitimate facade website on the default 80 port just for show and the real spam website on another port. They would be too dumb to find out!
In fact, I have detected a spam website hosted under a .TK domain randomly in my first days of researching it, just checking various names for registration.
Blind assumptions are blind. It is better not to shoot at all if you cannot shoot right… or get ready for the wave to turn back at you.
Other than that, I applaud the .TK’s initiative at the shortest URL shortener in existence and free top-level domain names for everybody! The venerable Monolith (of .ML.ORG and .SO) has attempted to accomplish this feat in the early years of the Internet unsuccessfully, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.so#The_demise_of_Monolith_.28ml.org.29
I should add that statistics of my website were far from zero! This wasn’t enough to make them realise that the website is there, only they were looking under wrong URL!
Also, for the information of the owner of labby.co.uk… The rules of .TK state it overtly that “placeholder pages”, including empty blog templates, are not allowed on free domains. They are allowed on paid domains. Maybe your blog was empty at the beginning ;-P. But, well… is not everything empty at first, before it is no more empty?

Thanks for taking the time to make your replies to my post. I agree with your points completely.
My site that this started with was not an empty blog, but an alternative pointer to this blog.

it happen to me today, and i feel so frustrated. i have no way to contact them and im worried to they cancel it again… I have somehow lost confidence in dot.tk’s reliability too. they don’t leave me any explanations or what so ever, and my website is fully functional and not having any copyright infringement material , lucky the site has been up just for 4 days and if they cancel it again ill just register a domain with a real registrant and ban dot.tk form my life ever…
ill like to know more about your cases guys, how do you contact them and what the answers was? I’m curious about what they call infringement or who the f… reported my site just to f.king up my patience…

I got the same email today. I’ve sent an email to support@dot.tk and waiting for a respond. And the worst thing is that I’ve just registered it yesterday…
They said they’ve cancelled it, but it’s still working fine at the moment. Maybe this is a mistake?

It’s even worse. Since dot.tk forced my website visitors to look at advertisements, before the could even see my homepage, I had decided to end my dot.tk domain and went to co.nr, which is without any advertisements.
But now, when you google my name, my old dot.tk is still showing up, and people are, not knowingly, directed to an advertisement-page. So they ar abusing my name to generate income!

They deleted my domain today using my hard earned traffice to their ads
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/24.0.1312.52 Safari/537.17
Happened to my on TWO of my domains today within the same 3 hours. Although I reset up my sites, it was very annoying.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.22 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/25.0.1364.172 Safari/537.22
I got just the same. On 2 domains in an half hour, and now, 10 minutes ago, another time two, in one minute. I hate them.
